This Privacy Policy explains how Selina Feng LLC ("Selene," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Selene app and the Ask Selene feature. By using Selene, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

  • Account information. When you create an account, we collect the information needed to sign you in and maintain your account, such as your email address.
  • Birth details. To calculate your natal chart, we collect your date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth. This information is used to generate your chart and your personalized moon readings.
  • Cycle information. If you use the cycle features (available with a subscription), we collect the cycle dates and related information you enter. You control whether to provide this; the core daily moon reading does not require it.
  • Conversation content. When you use Ask Selene, we process the messages you send in order to generate responses (see "Third-party AI services" below).
  • Usage information. We may collect basic app and device information to operate and improve the app. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. Apple may collect standard App Store analytics as described in Apple's privacy policy.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Calculate your natal chart and generate your daily moon readings
  • Provide the cycle features you opt into
  • Enable the Ask Selene conversational feature
  • Maintain your account and provide support
  • Operate and improve the app

Third-party AI services (Ask Selene)

Ask Selene and your personalized readings are generated using third-party AI services. Information you send to Ask Selene, along with relevant context derived from your chart and profile, is processed by these services to generate responses. We are finalizing the specifics of this disclosure, including the providers involved and their data-handling terms, and will update this policy accordingly before or shortly after launch.

How your information is stored

Your data is stored using Supabase, which provides our backend and database services. Your information is protected by industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest, along with row-level security controls that restrict access to your own data. We do not apply additional application-level encryption beyond these protections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

  • With service providers who help us operate the app (such as our backend provider and the third-party AI services described above), under terms that limit their use of your data
  • If required by law, or to protect rights, safety, or property

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store; we do not receive or store your payment card details.

Your choices and rights

You can:

  • Access or update your account and birth details in the app
  • Choose whether to provide cycle information
  • Delete individual logged periods at any time in Settings or the calendar view
  • Delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings
  • Contact us with any privacy request at the address below

Health-related and sensitive information

Some information you provide is sensitive, including your birth details and, if you use the cycle features, your cycle information (period dates, cycle length, and related personalization settings). This information is stored as described in "How your information is stored" above. Your cycle information is used to display your cycle history and calendar back to you and to personalize your readings, including responses from Ask Selene. Because your readings are generated using third-party AI services, information derived from your cycle and chart may be included in the data processed by those services. Selene's readings are for reflection and self-understanding and are not medical, psychological, or diagnostic advice.

Children

Selene is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children under that age.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a revised "Last updated" date.
